White Porcelain Outdoor Tiles

The Popular Choice

If you’re looking for white porcelain outdoor tiles, you’ve come to the right place. They’re one of the most popular choices for patios, paths and gardens in the UK – and it’s easy to see why. White tiles give an outdoor area an open, clean feel, and thanks to modern porcelain production, they’re built to handle everything the British weather throws at them. Frost-resistant, hard-wearing and simple to maintain, a quality set of white porcelain outdoor tiles will look great and last for years.

Seamless Transitions

A great example from our range is the Belgium White Stone Tile. Inspired by Belgian limestone, it has a subtle, natural quality, with fossil-like surface detail that gives it real character underfoot. Available in 90×90 and 60×120 formats with an R-11 anti-slip rating, it’s well-suited to patios, paths and poolside areas. Better still, it works seamlessly indoors, so you can carry the same tile from your garden straight through to your kitchen or hallway without a break in style.

The Garden Look You Always Wanted

A lot of people come to us after a tiling decision they’ve come to regret. Whether it’s a patio that stains and turns slippery in the rain, tiles that cracked after the first hard frost, or a garden that simply never looked as they imagined, these are common problems. Outdoor tiling is a significant investment, and picking the wrong tile or the wrong finish can be a costly mistake. The most frequent culprits are using indoor tiles outside (they’re not built for it), opting for a polished finish that becomes dangerously slick when wet, or going with a cheaper option that degrades within a couple of seasons.

A Strong Impact

If you want something with a more contemporary, urban feel, our Concrete Porcelain Tile is well worth considering. It’s a cement-effect tile with a smooth,  soft feel but with a high non-slip grip built in. Available in three sizes – 60×60, 90×90 and 60×120 – it gives you real flexibility whether you’re tiling a compact courtyard or a larger garden terrace. The worn cement look is understated enough to complement a wide range of outdoor styles without trying too hard.

Getting The Technical Things Right

When it comes to outdoor tiles, the technical specification matters as much as the look. The key things to check are the anti-slip rating (R-11 is the recommended standard for outdoor and wet areas), the thickness (outdoor tiles are typically 9–20mm), frost resistance and water absorption rate. Porcelain is naturally very dense and has an extremely low water absorption rate, which is exactly why it handles outdoor conditions so well – it won’t crack, stain or warp the way cheaper materials tend to over time. Every tile in our outdoor range has been chosen with all of these factors in mind.

Thoughtful Design

For something a little more special, the Illusion Porcelain Tile is a standout. Inspired by Illusion Bronze marble, it has delicate veining running across a cool, pale white-grey ground – the kind of surface detail that makes an outdoor area feel properly designed rather than just tiled. Available in a 60×120 format with an R-11 anti-slip finish, it’s as practical as it is beautiful. It’s the tile that makes guests stop and ask where it came from.

FAQs

Are white outdoor tiles hard to keep clean?
Not at all. Porcelain is one of the easiest outdoor surfaces to maintain. A regular sweep and an occasional mop with warm water and mild detergent is generally all it takes. The dense surface of porcelain means it doesn’t absorb dirt or stains the way natural stone can.

Will white tiles show dirt outside?
It’s a fair concern, but modern white porcelain is more forgiving than you might expect. A textured or matte indoor/outdoor finish (like those in our range) won’t highlight every mark the way a polished white tile would. And because porcelain doesn’t absorb grime, surface dirt tends to rinse away easily.

What anti-slip rating do I need for outdoor tiles?
For outdoor and wet areas, R-11 is the recommended minimum. All of the white outdoor tiles in our range carry at least an R-11 anti-slip rating, so you’re covered.

Can I use the same tile indoors and outdoors?
Yes – and that’s exactly what our indoor/outdoor range is designed for. The same tile can flow from your kitchen floor out onto your patio, giving a continuous, seamless look throughout your home.

Do porcelain tiles crack in frost?
High-quality porcelain has a very low water absorption rate, which means there’s minimal moisture inside the tile to expand and crack when temperatures drop. Our outdoor tiles are frost-resistant and well-suited to the UK climate.
