XPS Tile Backer Board 1200 x 600mm. The OnBoard 12mm or 6mm Tile Backer Board is a lightweight, waterproof XPS tile backing board and insulating system designed for wet rooms, showers, bathrooms and tiled floor installations.
Used in preference to chipboard, plywood or plasterboard, OnBoard provides a strengthened and stabilised surface ready for direct tiling. Manufactured with a waterproof extruded polystyrene (XPS) core and reinforced cement-coated fibreglass mesh faces, the board delivers excellent rigidity, insulation and moisture resistance.
Totally impervious to moisture, the board creates a durable and reliable substrate for porcelain, ceramic and natural stone tiles in both domestic and commercial environments. The high thermal insulation properties help minimise heat transfer to adjacent surfaces, making it ideal for use with underfloor heating systems.
Despite its strength, the board remains lightweight, easy to handle and simple to cut and install, with no significant additional load requirements.
